    Muhammad Ismail received the B.Sc. and M.Sc. degrees (Hons.) in electrical engineering (Electronics and Communications) from Ain Shams University, Cairo, Egypt, in 2007 and 2009, respectively, the Ph.D. degree in electrical and computer engineering from the University of Waterloo, Waterloo, ON, Canada, in 2013.

    He is currently an Assistant Research Scientist with the Electrical and Computer Engineering Department, Texas A&M University at Qatar, Doha, Qatar and an IEEE Senior Member. Dr. Ismail is a Co-Author of two research monographs by Wiley-IEEE Press and Springer and he has presented two tutorials in the IEEE WCNC 2016 and the IEEE Globecom 2015. He is a co-author of 5 book chapters, 26 journal papers, and 29 conference papers. He is a co-recipient of the best paper awards in the IEEE ICC 2014, the IEEE Globecom 2014, the SGRE 2015, and the Green 2016.

    Dr. Ismail was an Editorial Assistant of the IEEE TRANSACTIONS ON VEHICULAR TECHNOLOGY from 2011 to 2013. He has been an Associate Editor of the IEEE TRANSACTIONS ON GREEN COMMUNICATIONS AND NETWORKING since 2016, the IET Communications since 2014, and Elsevier PHYCOM since 2019. He served as a Workshop Chair in IEEE Greencom 2018, TPC Co-Chair in the IEEE VTC Fall 2017 and has served as a TPC Co-Chair in the IEEE VTC Fall 2016, the Publication and Publicity Chair in the CROWNCOM 2015, the Web Chair of the IEEE INFOCOM 2014, and a TPC Member in several IEEE Conferences.
