MSTF Lab is equipped with the following state-of-the-art facilities and scientific devices:
Experimental facilities:
1. SPRAY RIG: (a) Atmospheric and (b) High-pressure High-temperature (HPHT) ambient conditions. HPHT spray rig can withstand pressures up to 40 bar, and temperatures up to 250 oC for investigating the spray, and evaporation characteristics of alternative and conventional aviation / automobile fuels.
- Measurement techniques:
- Phase Doppler Anemometry, PDA from Dantec Dynamics, Denmark.
- Global sizing Velocimetry, GSV from TSI Inc., USA.
- Shadowgraph/Schlieren technique
- In-house developed PIV code
